Qualification:

NVQ level 2 in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving.

General information:

Presently, in the North West it is mandatory in Sefton and has been approved in Knowsley.

100% funded via the Train to Gain programme.

It must be completed within 12 months for new drivers to include the VRQ and within 5 years for existing drivers.

Join your colleagues working towards this qualification and let us put you on the road to success.

Drivers are assessed using a variety of methods to meet the NVQ standards.

Road Passenger Vehicle driving is no longer viewed as just transporting passengers to their destination. Drivers need to be aware of their passengers health and safety, how to deal with unusual situations, deliver a high level of customer service as well as having an understanding of and comply with legislation around driver licensing.

As an employer do you conform to your responsibilities? Even a simple one-person operation must fulfil certain legal requirements.

  • Are your premises safe?
  • Is your building fit for its purpose?
  • Do you value your health?
  • Does your business require the implementation of special precautions?
  • Do you deal with the public?
  • Do people visit your premises?
  • Are you aware of current legislation from the Health & Safety Executive?
  • Do you have a HSE poster displayed and a policy document?
  • Do you have suitable signage and conformto The Safety Signs Regulations
    1996?

You are not expected to eliminate all potential risk in your working environment, but you are required to protect people as far as “reasonably practicable”. Ignorance of the law is not a defence.
